To make FormBase as user friendly as possible we have chosen the Intranet/Internet platform to secure the system to scale and to be serviced over the Internet with a minimal cost of ownership.
The back-end database is Microsoft SQL Server shared with Impact CAD.
Impact CAD is able to read FormBase order- and process tables and will create all drawing layers for the CAD Operator. When CAD is finished, a Bill of Materials will be returned to FormBase
All prices can be specified both as default and as customer specific. Price per Rule Meter can be specified in intervals for both running meters and fixed meters. A Price Catalogue can be used to specify any price combination.
Daily planning for Production is done by setting a Priority Number per Order. Production is then done by following a top/down procedure. Capacity planning is another powerful option.
By the time a CAD process change status to Completed, the job will be visible for Production. Each Part to be produced will have a set of Job Cards where operators will timestamp when started and stopped. When an order is processed the after calculation report will show the result.
Customers can connect to the system via their Internet Browser to see orderstatus and order history. They can also create their own orders and apply for quotations. Customer machine specifications and materials can be updated by the customer.
The ERP system is fully integrated with the Order System and will supply all figures needed for price calculations on each Process per Cost Centre. The system also includes daily timestamp for embloyees and Machine Maintenance planning.
All Managers will have a clear picture of what is happening each day. A realtime display of Calendar, Pending CAD jobs, Orders to be delivered today, jobs with high priority, jobs not delivered on time, orders to be followed-up, all running processes and reports to be solved.
Any order can show either Quotation or Order. In cases where no quotatin is made, pricing will be done automaticaly by clicking a Row on the Invoice List. Materials are priced autoatically according to customer spec. Material and invoice text can be set individually per customer.
Simple planning is done by setting priority per day and move orders from one day to another. Capacity planning will show planned capacity against actual capacity per machine or workplace. Estimated production time can be calculalted by using the "Production Analyzer" to find best time among latest 1000 similar orders.
For each Process of an Order there will be a Job Card to be completed. When errors or problems occurs, Operator can create a Report to be send to his Manager. When all Job Cards are processed for an Order, they will remove from Production and only be visible for the "check & close" and "Delivery Note" procedure.
A complete status of current day is shown on the Status Screen. Management will get useful information about: Employees come & go timestamps, Calendar events, Maintenance events, Items booked for spare parts and consumables, Log file information, Reports, Sensor status and Service Order status.
Machines and equipment following a maintenance plan can be viewed and controlled by displaying reported feed-back. All reports can be displayed by selecting from the Report List.
Order producing companies like Die Making must adapt their resources to the market they are servicing. Also they must accept that all orders in principal are unique - each order a new challenge. It is therefore absolute important to have reliable data for cost estimates and Profit calculations.
FormBase RM organize a company into Static and Dynamic Cost Centres where a running budget can be controlled and adjusted to mirror correct capacity and cost per hour for each Cost Center.
Price and capacity per hour are used in FormBase Order Process Table to calculate the cost used and profit made for each Production Order.
All machines and equipment are booked and purchased from the Catalogue. The benefit of using a catalogue is to share all technical specifications in one place when more equal equipment are in use. Spare Parts can be shared and identified for all machines with the same catalogue number.
"Locations" will show where equal equipment is used and by whom.
It also makes it easier to reorder equipment.
In cases where maintenance depends on data from a sensor og timer, this information can be entered manually. The system will then calculate an estimate date according to the sensor point set. Two alarm days can be set to give a warning in advance.
If sensors are connected directly to store data on a server, it will make this feature to run automatically.
Often when more similar machines are installed you would like to service them at the same time. Or if any equipment in the factory can be serviced together to save time and money, then equipment can be placed in Pools.
